Best Things to Do on New Year’s Eve in Atlanta

Atlanta is inclusive in all things including New Year’s Eve. Kids like to celebrate the New Year, too, but midnight gets a little late for most kiddos. Thus, here are things to do on New Year’s Eve in Atlanta for adults and for kids.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens announced the return of Atlanta’s New Year’s Eve Peach Drop Festival. The evening will be headlined by diamond-selling artist, rapper, songwriter, record producer, actor and philanthropist Big Boi. The event will also feature performances by Neon Trees, RES and local artists and emceed by Atlanta’s own Ryan Cameron.

“It is my pleasure to bring this beloved tradition back to heart of Downtown Atlanta during its truly historic and transformative renaissance,” the mayor said. “This event is a fun and exciting way for residents and visitors alike to ring in 2025 like only we can in the ATL.”

The event will be held at Underground Atlanta with the stage opening at 6 p.m. and the historic peach dropping at midnight. The much-beloved celebration attracts tens of thousands of attendees and is cemented into Atlanta’s rich history.

New Year’s Eve for Adults

9 Mile Station

Say goodbye to 2024 with a prix-fixe dinner experience at 9 Mile Station. Reservations at the restaurant are available from 4 until 10 p.m., and igloos are available on New Year’s Eve for private dinners for up to six guests.

Georgia Aquarium is planning a big New Year’s Eve bash. The exclusive VIP celebration features after-hours access to all aquarium galleries, live DJs and dance floors. Enjoy the lounge in Oceans Ballroom, indulge in gourmet food offerings prepared by Wolfgang Puck Catering and savor takeaway treats (while supplies last). The open bar ensures your glass is always full as you toast the New Year. Experience the excitement of midnight countdowns in both the atrium and ballroom. $199.

Hartley Kitchen & Cocktails

To kick off the new year, guests can dine at Hartley Kitchen & Cocktails with a special brunch from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 until 9 p.m.

Johnny’s Hideaway

Starting at 6:30 p.m. and going until 3 a.m., Johnny’s Hideaway will offer special dinner features with party favors on New Year’s EveThe menu features an 8-ounce filet with baked potato and side salad ($36.99), 8-ounce tuna steak with baked potato and side salad ($19.99), shrimp cocktail with eight jumbo shrimp ($12.99) and red velvet cake ($12.99). Tickets are $60 and can be purchased at the bar or by calling.

Nobu Hotel Atlanta

Ring in the New Year at Nobu Hotel Atlanta. The exclusive New Year’s Eve package includes breakfast, valet parking and an omakase dinner. Enjoy a DJ spinning tracks throughout the night, and raise a glass during a complimentary champagne toast.

Park Tavern

Park Tavern is throwing an all-inclusive New Year’s Eve party. Turn back the clock and relive the turn of the millennium at the Y2K Throwback Party. Dress in your favorite Y2K fashion — if you want to go casual, think low-rise jeans and velour track suits. If you want to get fancy for NYE, dress in metallic. Get ready for an iconic night of music, nostalgia and nonstop fun. This event is for those age 21 and older. $99 and up.

Red Phone Booth

Starting at 8 p.m., Red Phone Booth guests are welcomed with VIP admission, a signature welcome cocktail and all-night indulgence from the dessert bar. From 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., DJ Mami Chula will keep partiers dancing well into the new year. Guests will raise a glass during the midnight champagne toast. A special New Year’s Eve menu is available for purchase from 8 until 10 p.m.

Signia by Hilton Atlanta

From 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., welcome the New Year with an Italian culinary experience at Signia by Hilton Atlanta, featuring a three-course menu. There will be two wine pairing opportunities with the dinner, $50 for entry level pairings and $100 for luxury pairings, as well as a la carte martini cart offerings.

Waldorf Astoria

The Waldorf Astoria will welcome 2025 with a New Year’s Eve black-tie dinner and black-tie gala. The evening will feature a seven-course wine dinner co-hosted by a surprise local culinary icon, followed by a grand celebration with a live band and DJ, all set in an atmosphere spanning two floors.

The Whitley

The Whitley plans a New Year’s Eve bash starting at 9 p.m. and running until 12:30 a.m.

New Year’s Eve for Kids

Children’s Museum of Atlanta

Ring in the New Year a little early at Children’s Museum of Atlanta’s annual Bubble Bash on Dec. 31. Tickets are $10 for members/$25 for non-members. Families and kids will dive into a dazzling countdown event full of dancing, games, giggles and more. Groove to the DJ’s beats and get ready for the ultimate bubble-wrap-popping celebration. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Walk-up ticket availability is limited and ticket prices will increase on Dec. 26.

Kids Early New Year’s Eve Celebration at Stone Mountain Park

Because kids are just as excited to ring in the New Year as their parents, but need to be in bed before midnight, Stone Mountain Park will host an early New Year’s Eve Celebration.

During Stone Mountain Christmas on Dec. 31, Stone Mountain Park will operate the Christmas event as usual including the Magical Christmas Drone & Light Show, and then the park will ring in the New Year early with a magical snowfall and early countdown. When the clock strikes 9 p.m., families can enjoy fireworks to usher in the New Year (early).

Noon Year’s Eve

The Roof at Ponce City Market will again host the Noon Year’s Eve celebration, an all-ages, family-friendly celebration to ring in the New Year as guests countdown to noon.

Noon Year’s Eve Balloon Drop

LEGO Discovery Center Atlanta invites families to ring in the New Year before the clock strikes midnight at the annual Noon Year’s Eve Celebration. Arrive before noon to celebrate with the LEGO Ball Drop. Grab a complimentary 2025 headband while supplies last and toast the new year with a glass of sparkling apple cider. Celebrate New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Zoo Year’s Eve

Join the critters at Zoo Atlanta, in the Ford Pavilion, for an early countdown to the New Year at noon. Dance in the new year with Turbo the Tiger and DJ Matt. At 10:30 a.m., see a magic show. Picadilly Puppets present Cat & Mouse Tales at 1:30 p.m. Make New Year’s resolutions at the ResZoolution table. Engage in crafts including DIY noisemakers, paper countdown clocks and wishing wants. There will be a 360-degree photo booth, a photo kiosk and photo opportunities with Turbo the Tiger. Finally, animal encounters will enable you to get up close and personal during ambassador animal presentations. The events begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

New Year’s Eve with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra begins at 8 p.m. Dec. 31 at Byers Theatre, Sandy Springs Performing Arts.
