The National Black Arts Festival is a summer festival that’s among the highlights of Atlanta’s annual calendar of events. Throughout the year, the much-acclaimed Atlanta Black Arts Festival showcases performing arts, literature and visual arts produced by creative artists of African descent.
The NBAF produces year-round educational programming, while collaborating with partners in and around the Atlanta area. Recently recognized as an innovator in the arts, the NBAF was awarded a $1 million, five-year restricted grant to participate in Leading for the Future. This recognition alone proves how special the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta truly is.
The National Black Arts Festival was first held in Atlanta in 1988. You’re invited to be a part of a long-lasting African-American tradition and support black arts in Atlanta.
